Faodail Orkney came to life in August 2017, when our group of sixth year students from Stromness Academy, Orkney signed up to join our school's Young Enterprise team. Inspired by the dramatic coastline of our home islands, we felt that the natural look and ruggedness of slate stone best resembled this, and we knew early on that we wanted to incorporate it into our product.
After weeks of brainstorming and careful planning, we are now busy working away with local suppliers and craftsmen to produce our beautifully made slate coasters and chalkboards, which we hope you love just as much as us.
Here at Faodail, we are incredibly proud of our Orkney heritage, and wanted to stay true to our roots by embodying the beauty of the islands in some of our designs, such as our Brodgar Coaster and our Runic Coaster.
